Samsung confirmed in a statement on November 5, 2026 that its Stablecoin Account is live in Samsung Wallet for eligible U.S. Galaxy users, according to The Block. Users can buy, hold and transfer USDC on Solana inside the app. The feature requires no separate crypto app and no private keys for users to manage.

Samsung first announced the feature on October 7, 2026. The launch had been expected in the last week of October.

Users must be at least 18, have a Samsung Account, and own a compatible device running Android 13 or later. About 82 million U.S. Galaxy devices are compatible, according to Samsung’s release. That figure counts supported phones, not customers or open accounts. New York residents are excluded.

USDC can go to another Samsung Wallet user or a compatible external wallet with no Samsung transfer fee. Outside wallet providers and exchanges may charge their own. Users can also send money to qualifying bank accounts in more than 60 countries. Recipients may receive local currency, and fees vary by destination.

Bastion, which The Block describes as a licensed stablecoin custodian and infrastructure provider, runs the accounts and the transfer infrastructure. Coinbase holds the USDC as sub-custodian through Coinbase Prime Vault. Samsung does not directly hold customer funds, according to its disclosures as reported by Blockonomi.

Coinbase and Samsung had worked together before the launch. In October 2025, Samsung expanded its Coinbase partnership to let U.S. Galaxy users fund Coinbase accounts with Samsung Pay, The Block reported.

Samsung said it expects to explore online and in-store stablecoin payments and expansion to other markets, subject to local regulation. It gave no date.

“Stablecoins have the potential to make moving money around the world faster and easier, and we want Galaxy users to be able to take advantage of that without having to navigate the complexity of traditional crypto tools,” said Woncheol Chai, executive vice president and head of the digital wallet team at Samsung Electronics’ Mobile eXperience business.

Lily Liu, president of the Solana Foundation, said: “For a decade, stablecoins have proved the technology works. What they lacked was a way to reach the mainstream.”
